IN A STREAMING ROYALTIES DISPUTE WITH DOMINO, FOUR TET WINS

Kieran Hebden (also known as Four Tet) has prevailed in his royalty dispute with his old label, Domino. The company agreed to retroactively pay around $70,000 in royalties dating back to 2001 when he signed his record deal. The figure represents the gap between the fifty percent rate Hebden believed he should obtain for streaming and downloads and the eighteen percent rate Domino, along with many other labels, was paying. In addition to paying the 50% rate in the future, Domino will refund Hebden’s legal fees and lost profits interest.
