In the new video for “THIB,” the title tune from his most recent album, “The House Is Burning,” Isaiah Rashad finds himself deep inside the looking glass.
Rashad is awoken in the middle of the night by an earthquake in the video, and the scene he discovers outside is both familiar and strange. Rashad interpolates some of Missy Elliot’s “The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)” lyrics and flows in “THIB,” and the footage incorporates major fish-eye lens shots, similar to the music video Hype Williams created for Missy’s song.
Rashad dropped “The House Is Burning” in July, marking his first album in five years after The Sun’s Tirade in 2016.
Rashad is now on a North American tour in promotion of the album, which will kick out on Wednesday, October 20th in Dallas and conclude on November 9th in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
