Jana Rush, a Chicago producer, has signed with Planet Mu to release her second album, ‘Painful Enlightenment.’
The 11-track album follows her previous release, Objects Limited’s ‘Pariah,’ which was dropped four years ago. ‘Painful Enlightenment’ sees the producer branching out from the footwork sound that dominated the last album.
Rush’s own experiences with depression and suicidal ideas are explored in the album, which also features DJ Paypal and Nancy Fortune.
Planet Mu will release ‘Painful Enlightenment’ on August 13th.
The record will follow DJ Manny’s other footwork-related release, ‘Signals In My Head,’ which will be released on Planet Mu next month.
