On June 6, Justin Bieber will perform at the 50th Juno Awards, which will be broadcast live in his home country of Canada. It will be his first appearance at the Juno Awards since 2010.
At this year’s event, Bieber is up for five awards: album of the year and pop album of the year for “Changes,” single of the year for “Intentions,” artist of the year, and the Juno fan choice award.
Bieber has seven Juno Awards to his name (from 27 nominations). That’s an improvement over his performance at the Grammy Awards, where he received two awards (from 14 nominations).
He has won pop album of the year twice at the Juno Awards, for My World 2.0 (2011) and Purpose (2016). From 2011 to 2016, he received the Juno fan choice award five times.
Bieber’s performance on this year’s show comes ahead of his newly rescheduled 52-date Justice World Tour 2022. The tour’s North American leg begins in February 2022, with dates in Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal in Canada. Justice, his album that spent two weeks at the top of the Billboard 200 in April, is the inspiration for the tour.
In April, “Peaches” (with Daniel Caesar and Giveon) debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, the same week Justice debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Bieber became the first solo male artist to debut at the top of both Billboard’s flagship charts in the same week as a result of this.
The 50th Juno Awards will be broadcast on CBC TV, CBC Gem, CBC Radio One, CBC Music, and CBC Listen on Sunday, June 6 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. They’ll be broadcast worldwide on CBCMusic.ca/junos. The performance will be liveestreamed on the TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter accounts of CBC Music.
On Thursday, May 27, the complete lineup of performers and presenters for the anniversary broadcast will be revealed.
