The video for Meek Mill’s take on Drake and Rick Ross’ hit single “Lemon Pepper Freestyle” has been released.
The Carters Vision-directed video finds the rapper in his hometown of Philadelphia, putting down his own version of the Scary Hours 2 track, popping into jewellery stores, and riding his motorcycle through the city’s streets.
Meek Mill’s most recent album was Championships in 2018, but he’s since launched a slew of standalone EPs and singles, including his Quarantine Pack, the 2020 track “Otherside of America,” and the Justin Timberlake-featuring “Believe.” Meek Mill hasn’t confirmed a new album, but he promised earlier this week on Twitter, “This summer ima terrorize this rap shit.”
When it was released in March, Drake and Rick Ross’ “Lemon Pepper Freestyle” reached Number Three on the Rolling Stone Top 100 Songs List; that week, all three Scary Hours 2 tracks topped the list, with “What’s Next” at Number One and “Wants and Needs” at Number Two featuring Lil Baby .
