Leon Bridges has shared a music video for his song “Steam,” which is directed by Academy Award nominee Bradford Young.
Bridges has also released a short film to coincide with the release of his new album, Gold-Diggers Sound. Young also directed the 20-minute video, which honours Bridges’ “music, Blackness, Texas, and his Southern heritage.” The film is only available on Apple Music.
Bridges’ third album, Gold-Diggers Sound, was produced by Reed and Nate Mercereau and executive produced by Bridges and Ricky Reed. Terrace Martin, Robert Glasper, and Ink all make appearances.
Bridges unveiled several songs ahead of the album’s release, including “Why Don’t You Touch Me,” which received a two-part music video, and “Sweeter,” which he unveiled last year after George Floyd’s murder.
To mark the release of Gold-Diggers Sound, the musician performed a heartfelt performance of “Steam” on The Tonight Show this week.
