“Long Way,” a new song by Eddie Vedder, has been unveiled. Earthling is the first track off his forthcoming solo album. The single, along with the next song “The Haves,” will be released on a limited-edition 7-inch vinyl, which may be preordered through Pearl Jam’s Ten Club.
On the song about star-crossed lovers, the Pearl Jam vocalist teamed for the first time with producer Andrew Wyatt.
Vedder recently worked on the music for Sean Penn’s Flag Day alongside Glen Hansard, which includes Vedder’s daughter Olivia on the songs “My Father’s Daughter” and “There’s a Girl.” They also collaborated on three of the soundtrack’s songs with Cat Power.
At Sea.Hear.Now, Pearl Jam will perform. Festival on September 18th, Ohana Festival on October 26th, and the Encore Weekend at Ohana Festival on October 1st and 2nd. In addition, on September 25th, Vedder will perform a special solo set at Ohana Festival. Vedder has also been invited to take part in Audible’s ongoing music and storytelling series, Words + Music, for the fall season.
