‘Made in Lagos (Deluxe)’ Short Film Features Wizkid who Indulges in Beauty

In a new short film, Wizkid brings three tracks from Made in Lagos: Deluxe Edition to life. Wizkid’s great fashion sense and passion for dazzling cinematography are showcased in this work directed by Kuukua Eshun and Wizkid himself.

Made In Lagos (Deluxe) serves as an extended music video for three of his latest songs: “Anoti,” “Mood,” which features Buju, another Nigerian artist, and “Steady.” Vibrant neons and pastels, ethereal woodlands, sandy plains, and modelesque women inhabit its realms. While there is a hazy plot in which Wizkid chases a lovely stranger, this is primarily an aesthetic venture.

Wizkid’s appearance on Burna Boy’s latest track, “B. d’Or,” preceded the release of the Made In Lagos (Deluxe) video. Wiz finished a sold-out three-show run at The O2 London on December 1, during which he and Burna Boy announced the track’s impending release.

Made in Lagos: Deluxe Edition, Wizkid’s most recent album, was delivered in August. The remix featured Tems and Justin Bieber remixing his hit “Essence”. The song reached number ten on the Billboard Hot 100, a rare success for an African singer. The best song of 2021, according to Rolling Stone, is “Essence.”
