On Grand Theft Auto V Online, Moodymann has unveiled some exclusive new songs as well as a fully realized alter-ego named “Kenny.”
Kenny Dixon Jr., the famed producer and DJ, has previously appeared as a resident DJ at the in-game club The Music Locker.
As part of the upcoming GTA Online update, Los Santos Tuners, he returns as “Kenny,” a new task guide in the unlawful underground racing scene.
Kenny embodies Moody’s real-life passion for automobiles and plays a key role in the update’s storyline, which focuses largely on the game’s street racing element, in which players can modify their cars and compete against one another in races. On their media stick, players that visit Kenny at the Los Santos Car Meet will find ‘Kenny’s Backyard Boogie Mix.’
The mix includes exclusive Moodymann songs in a variety of house, soul, and hip hop styles, including collaborations with Channel Tres, Nez with Gangsta Boo, The Time, and Jessie Johnson.
This isn’t Rockstar’s first collaboration with Moodymann; he released ‘Keep on Coming’ on July 9 as part of Rockstar X Circoloco’s new label Circoloco Records’ inaugural release, ‘Monday Dreamin”.
On Friday, a playlist to complement ‘Kenny’s Backyard Boogie Mix’ will be released.
