Artists such as Alison Wonderland, Octo Octa, and CINTHIE have provided music to a new Tetris game.
‘Tetris Beat,’ the latest edition of Alexey Pajitnov’s 40-year-old landmark video game, contains a mode in which players must stack the distinctive colored bricks in rhythm to the music, which features work from a bunch of leading producers. The list also includes Hannah Diamond, a singer, songwriter, and visual artist, as well as Dauwd, a regular on Ninja Tune and Kompakt. Apple Arcade is the only place where you can get the game.
It’s the most recent example of dance music and video games coming together. Last month, Moodymann became the latest face to take that step from the real-world club scene to Grand Theft Auto Online’s playable environment, according to a recent DJ Mag feature. Rockstar Games, the game’s developer, is also engaged in CircoLoco Records, an imprint associated with the Ibiza club night that debuted in May.
