Gorillaz has teased a new tune titled “Cracker Island” via social media.
This Thursday, a small clip featuring each of the group’s cartoon members was posted online with the remark “Cracker Island is coming…” with the hashtag #thelastcult.
The group then shared two photographs, one portraying the entire group and the other featuring 2D alone, with the wording “2D is the chosen one…”
A pre-save link has been posted online, indicating that the new song will be released shortly. The song has also been a staple of Gorillaz’s recent live performances, with Thundercat providing guest vocals on the live version.
‘Cracker Island’ will be the first new Gorillaz music since the launch of the three-track ‘Meanwhile’ record last year.
