According to a recent interview on the Swedish television show ‘Skavlan,’ Nile Rodgers intends to release numerous unreleased collaborations with Avicii.
The discussion covered a variety of topics from Rodgers’ long career, which began in 1972 with his co-founding of the legendary disco and funk band Chic. During the conversation, he expressed an interest in releasing some of the music he collaborated on with Avicii, actual name “Tim Bergling,” with the blessing of the latter’s family and estate.
The two first collaborated in the studio for the song ‘Lay Me Down,’ which appeared on Avicii’s debut album, ‘True,’ in 2013. Rodgers has recently claimed that he would be happy to mix and release the remaining songs they collaborated on because he “knew what Tim was thinking” and could thus respect those views.
The recently renamed Avicii Arena in Stockholm will organize a tribute concert for the late singer next month, with the goal of raising awareness about teenage mental health.
