The new video for Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds’ song “Flying on the Ground” has been released. Back the Way We Came: Vol 1 (2011-2021), the band’s best-of album, will be released on Friday via Sour Mash Records and features two new songs.
The video builds on the plot of the French New Wave-inspired “We’re On Our Way Now” video, which was the first of two new songs from the album to be revealed. Matt Smith (The Crown) and Gala Gordon star in both films. “Flying on the Ground” takes a closer look at the couple’s life, showing them enjoying happy times at home and strolling around the city streets together. However, something evil is going on behind the scenes, as intimated in the first visual, and whatever Smith’s character has been secretly involved in leads to disaster. Gallagher makes a cameo appearance in the video directed by Dan Cadan and Jonathan Mowatt.
