On Thursday (April 1), Olivia Rodrigo released “Deja Vu,” the highly awaited follow-up to her smash “Drivers License,” and if you felt you had a lot of emotions before, “Deja Vu” will have you (re)visiting them.
“Deja Vu,” will be featured on the forthcoming album of Rodrigo for Geffen which was full-length debut album. Dan Nigro produced and co-wrote the song. Rodrigo revisits her love’s old haunts in the video for the song, donning a green dress that elicits a knowing smile, and rewatching clips from the good old days on a collection of vintage TVs. Rodrigo flashes a pleased, understanding grin as her doppelgänger beams into the scene to bring home the been-there-wore-that point, until the slow-burn track builds to a buzzing crescendo as she swings a sledgehammer to smash the cathode ray images of what was.
Talia Ryder, the breakout co-star of the tragic 2020 film Never Rarely Sometimes Always, plays the new woman in the video directed by Allie Avital.
