Para One, a French producer and film director, has announced the release of his new album, “Machines of Loving Grace.” On May 21, Animal63 (Believe) will release it.
‘Machines of Loving Grace’ will be followed by three single EPs featuring remixes by Actress, Hot Chip, Alva Noto, Call Super, Ricardo Villalobos, and many others.
‘Machines of Loving Grace’ is a deep dive into Para One’s own musical influences, with Indonesian gamelan, Japanese anime soundtracks, Steve Reich’s game-changing minimalism, and Detroit techno all influencing the album.
As a consequence, the album is wide and expansive, with each beat resonating until the very end. The Bulgarian Mystères des voix Bulgares sing an invented language, ethereal and entrancing, on the lead single “Shin Sekai.” The Suar Agung group went into the Balian jungle with Para One to record ‘Silicon Jungle.’ In ‘Machines of Loving Grace,’ Para One tries his hand at acoustic elements for the first time in order to create his own fantastical universe.
‘Machines of Loving Grace’ is the first in a trilogy of albums that will be followed by a Para One upcoming film and a live show called ‘Operation of the Machine,’ which will take place next winter.
