Yola performed a heartfelt rendition of her track “Dancing Away in Tears” on The Tonight Show. The British singer performed an emotional rendition of the mid-tempo ballad while performing with her band.
Yola’s 2021 album Stand For Myself, which was released in July, has “Dancing Away in Tears.” Dan Auerbach, who has been a vocal advocate of Yola’s work, produced the tracks.
Last year, the singer told Rolling Stone that the record, her second full-length, is a proudly autobiographical statement for her.
Yola performed “Remember Her Name” with Mickey Guyton at the 2021 CMT Artists of the Year event in October. Yola will play rock & roll pioneer, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, in Baz Luhrman’s musical film Elvis this year.
