Orbital’s classic rave track “Chime” has been remixed by Special Request.
Better Days: The Story Of UK Rave, a new rave documentary from Amazon, inspired the remix.
‘Chime Re-Record (Special Request Remix)’ by Orbital is a new take on the electronic duo’s 1989 track by Leeds-based producer Special Request, actual name Paul Woolford. The freshly reworked track still plays to the duo’s famous song, retaining all of the nostalgic elements.
The single was released in conjunction with the release of Better Days: The Story Of UK Rave, Amazon Music’s latest documentary on 90s rave culture and the creation of free parties across the UK. Paul Hartnoll is interviewed in the documentary on his involvement with the underground rave scene 30 years ago.
Better Days also includes interviews with SHERELLE, Prospa, Denis Sulta, and TSHA, as well as a look at more contemporary artists. The documentary covers everything from illegal London raves to the progress of audio equipment, spanning a generation of UK dance music.
Currently, the song is only accessible on Amazon Music.
