Phoebe Bridger’s “Kyoto,” from her new album Punisher, has been remixed by Bartees Strange, the Marias, and Glitch Gum.
Strange’s version (above) keeps the original’s vibe but adds modest synth and his trademark vocals.
Glitch Gum’s cover is coated in hyperpop, whereas The Marias’ cover is psychedelic.
Bridgers has had a busy few months, performing with the Killers on their new single “Runaway Horses,” covering Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters,” and working with Taylor Swift on her Red re-recording — on “Nothing New” from the vault, which will be released in November. She’ll hit the road again this fall, beginning on September 3rd in St. Louis, Missouri.
