Phoebe Bridgers has released the latest version of her single “Chinese Satellite,” which was released as part of the Secretly Canadian label’s 25th anniversary celebrations. Bridgers recorded it at Sound City Studios in Los Angeles, and earnings from the single will go to the label’s attempts to raise $250,000 for homelessness relief in Bloomington, Indiana.
Secretly Canadian’s SC25 Singles series includes a new rendition of “Chinese Satellite.” A slew of reissues and a podcast about the label’s history and artist lineup were among the group’s anniversary offerings.
Bridgers will embark on a world tour next month, commencing in North America and travelling through Europe in June before returning to the United States in August for a West Coast leg. She covered Tom Waits’ “Day After Tomorrow” in November to raise money for the International Institute of Los Angeles’ Local Integration & Family Empowerment Division. Her Saddest Factory label imprint has recently launched a SiriusXM radio show.
