piri and Tommy Villiers have just released a new song entitled ‘beachin.’
This pop song, which features old-skool jungle and drum ‘n’ bass drum patterns and melodies, is the follow-up to their hugely successful ‘soft spot,’ which went viral on TikTok and earned them a UK number one.
Piri has been slowly teasing ‘beachin’ on TikTok by uploading a sample of the tune to the app prior to the track’s release; this sample has already spawned multiple videos and a new dance on the app.
The duo was made up of two students who were pulled together by music and sought to mix rave cliches with elements of alt-pop.
They released’soft spot’ on the internet, not expecting it to go as viral as it did; the single drew the attention of Charli XCX, Pinkpantheress, and supermodel Bella Hadid, among others.
When asked about their influences, the duo told Mixmag that they were “drawn to the old-skool rave and jungle sounds” and sought to merge them with current pop.
Piri remarked on Instagram that it was “scary” to follow the success of “soft spot,” but they are “so proud of beachin.”
