RARE STATEMENT BY KATE BUSH ON STRANGER THINGS’ “RUNNING UP THAT HILL”

Kate Bush has released a rare remark recognising the revival of her 1985 single “Running Up That Hill.” Due to its presence in the season premiere of Stranger Things on Netflix, the song’s popularity has exploded in recent days.

“Running Up That Hill” was initially featured on Bush’s acclaimed fifth studio record, Hounds of Love, which she self-produced and wrote with a Fairlight CMI, a revolutionary digital sampling synthesizer. The song plays an important role and serves as a motif throughout the season of Stranger Things; it is also Max Mayfield’s favorite song (Sadie Sink).

Bush wrote: “It features the song, ‘Running Up That Hill’, which is given a whole new lease of life by the young fans who love the show—I love it too!”

Since its appearance in Stranger Things, “Running Up That Hill” has gone viral on social media, with thousands of streams rising continuously.
