RECORD BREAK VINYL SALES WEEK FOR A RAP ALBUM BY TYLER, THE CREATOR

Tyler, the Creator, has set a new record for the biggest vinyl sales of the week

for a rap album in more than three decades.

His Grammy-winning sixth studio album, ‘Call Me If You Get Lost,’ debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 shortly after its June 2021 release, but massive vinyl sales have put it back to the top. The vinyl edition of ‘Call Me If You Get Lost’ was only available via the US singer’s website.

Tyler sold over 49,500 physical copies via his official web store, according to Billboard’s reports, making it the greatest sales week for a hip-hop album on vinyl, or a solo male album on vinyl, since the inception of the music sales tracker Luminate (formerly MRC Data) in 1991. Before Tyler, the previous record-holder was Kid Cudi’s 2009 album, titled ‘Man on the Moon: The End of Day.’
