Representative Clarifies that #FreeLarryHoover Proceeds will Benefit Charities

During the Amazon-sponsored “Free Larry Hoover Benefit Concert” on Thursday, December 9, Kanye West (now legally known as Ye) and Drake officially resolved their rivalry. The event was meant to “[raise] awareness of the need for prison and sentencing reform,” with proceeds going to Ex-Cons for Community and Social Change, Hustle 2.0, and Uptown People’s Law Center. A portion of the profits from the commemorative event went to such organizations as well.

Based on a GQ report, merch purchases would not assist the charity in an earlier version of this report.

The #FreeLarryHoover merchandise is available for purchase on Amazon and includes items “engineered by Balenciaga,” according to the product description. T-shirts (priced at $100 and $160), jeans (priced at $400), a ball cap (priced at $60), and other items with the words “Free Hoover” printed on them are included in the merchandise capsule.
