Röyksopp have announced the opening of an official Instagram account, where they are announcing a new project.
The page just went live this week, and the bio currently says as follows: “Press R. January 1, 2022. Follow the official Röyksopp Instagram in the next 48 hours for your first clue. ” Fans can also go to the Norwegian duo’s official website, which has a similar message, via a link in the bio.
It’s unclear what they’re revealing, but the duo’s most recent studio album, ‘The Inevitable End,’ was dropped in 2014, following a slew of remixes, collaborations, and archive releases in the between.
When they unveiled ‘The Inevitable End’ in 2014, the pair described it as their final EP.
While the duo may be hinting at a comeback to recording and releasing a full-length album, little is known about their plans.
A limited-edition vinyl version of the duo’s record ‘Melody A.M.’ sold for $8,450 on Discogs earlier in 2021.
