RZA and Grammy-winning producer DJ Scratch have collaborated on a new single from the upcoming album of RZA.
The New York rapper, best known as the de facto leader of the famous hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan, released ‘Fate of the World’ on Friday (18th February). It’s the second track from ‘Saturday Afternoon Kung Fu Theater,’ which will be dropped on March 4th. It follows the title tune.
The tune, which was produced by Danny Hastings and RZA, is accompanied by visuals that show a school of pupils learning “the Tao of Wu,” which is also the title of RZA’s 2009 book about “key turning points in his life.”
‘Saturday Afternoon Kung Fu Theater,’ which features RZA battling with his alter ego Bobby Digital, is characterized as a love letter to the kung fu movies that broadcast each Saturday on local TV channels “when there were only 5 channels to choose from.”
The US government released a batch of new pictures from Wu-Tang Clan’s ‘Once Upon A Time In Shaolin’ last month.
A few weeks later, it was announced that RZA had lodged a $2 million lawsuit against a number of e-commerce shops suspected of selling counterfeit band merchandise.
