SCHOLARSHIPS FOR 30 MORE BLACK STUDENTS TO ATTEND CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY ARE ANNOUNCED BY STORMZY

Stormzy has indicated that his scholarship program for Black students at Cambridge University would be expanded.
Stormzy’s #Merky Foundation, in collaboration with HSBC, will provide ten students a £20,000 annual scholarship to cover tuition and living expenses.The initiative will last three years and will provide support to 30 Black students during that time.
The Stormzy Scholarship, which was first introduced in 2018, has so far sponsored six Black students, two of whom are expected to graduate this year.
Professor Graham Virgo, Senior Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cambridge, has also stated that the number of Black students applying and being admitted to the university has increased significantly since the scholarships were introduced three years ago.
Since its inception in 2018, Stormzy’s #Merky Books programme has supported a number of young writers from underrepresented areas, with a second edition of its annual New Writers’ Prize launched late last year
