Soft Cell has collaborated with Pet Shop Boys on their new track “Purple Zone,” which will also appear on Soft Cell’s upcoming EP “*Happiness Not Included.”
The collaboration started after the Pet Shop Boys heard ‘Purple Zone’ performed live at a Soft Cell show in 2021 – initial talks were about recording a remix, but talk quickly evolved to an all-out collaboration, according to the duo.
Soft Cell’s previous album, ‘Cruelty Without Beauty,’ was released in 2002, and their latest album, ‘*Happiness Not Included,’ is set to be released on May 6.
According to vocalist Marc Almond, the pair will explore modern social challenges as well as utopian ideas over the course of twelve songs.
