Caterina Barbieri has declared the summer release of her third studio record, ‘Spirit Exit.’
The long eight-track record which will be released on 8th July will be Barbieri’s second launch on her label light-years, which began in July 2021 with another musical artist’s collaboration Lyra Pramuk. It is the follow-up to her 2019 release ‘Ecstatic Computation’, which was released by Editions Mego.
For the first time, the Italian composer incorporates vocals, guitar, and string instruments along with her distinctive modular synth on ‘Spirit Exit.’ It was written and filmed during Milan’s first coronavirus pandemic lockdown in 2020. As per the press report, the album was influenced by “female mystics” such as Emily Dickinson, St. Teresa D’Avila, and Rosi Braidotti.
