The dates for Stephen Marley’s “Babylon by Bus” tour have been revealed. The gigs will include Stephen’s songs from his 40-plus year career alongside music from his father’s catalogue and will be named after Bob Marley and the Wailers’ 1978 live album.
The 19-date US tour opens live on August 26th at Mateel Community Center in Redway, California, and concludes on September 26th at Salvage Station in Asheville, North Carolina. Stephen’s brother Ziggy Marley will perform a Bob Marley tribute concert as part of the tour in honour of their father’s 76th birthday. On September 12th, the Marley brothers will perform at the BeachLife Festival in Redondo Beach, California.
A percentage of the proceeds from the next tour will go to the Ghetto Youths Foundation, a non-profit founded by Stephen, Damian, and Julian Marley that assists disadvantaged communities.
Stephen completed the celebrations for Bob Marley’s 75th birthday with a livestream performance earlier this year, and he celebrated his own with a 4/20 livestream event.
