Taylor Swift has shared a video of her duet with Justin Vernon of Bon Iver, “Exile,” from her concert film/documentary “Folkore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions.”
Swift performed her 2020 album, Folklore, for the first time with collaborators Aaron Dessner and Jack Antonoff at the Long Pond Studio Sessions. Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, Vernon had to record his part for “Exile” from afar, but the video does show him wearing a mask, which may be a safety measure or an innovative option to add a bit more muffle to his vocals. Swift and Vernon’s voices merge and blend perfectly as they sing over Dessner’s piano playing, despite the distance.
Swift released The Long Pond Studio Sessions on Disney+ last November, along with a live album. Swift followed up Folklore with Evermore, her second album of 2020, a month later. Swift’s album Folklore recently won Album of the Year at the Grammys that made her won for the third time.
Swift released Fearless (Taylor’s Version) earlier this month, a re-recording of her 2008 album “Fearless” as part of a broader attempt to rebuild her back catalog and reclaim ownership of her master recordings. Swift featured new versions of six previously unreleased tracks that didn’t make the first final cut, in addition to new versions of all the tracks on Fearless.
