The Foo Fighters have launched a bizarre animated music video for their single “Chasing Birds,” which appears on their new album Medicine at Midnight.
The video depicts Dave Grohl and the rest of the Foos going on a long, weird trip in the desert, which is based on the song’s first lyric. Foo Fighters find themselves stuck in a dark, spooky cavern — the video’s version of hell, as explained in the song — after having some fun with the vibrant, psychedelic imagery around them.
After being delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Foo Fighters launched Medicine at Midnight in February. Following Grohl’s inspiration from the recent Bee Gees documentary, the band performed a cover of the Bee Gees’ “You Should Be Dancing” on BBC Radio 2 Sofa Session later that month. They also performed Andy Gibb’s “Shadow Dancing” during the Rock-N-Relief livestream in March, which is another Gibb Brothers classic.
Along with Lizzo and Tyler, the Creator, the band is scheduled to headline the 2021 Bonnaroo festival this Labor Day Weekend.
