Inside, Bo Burnham’s pandemic-era comedy special will finally have a physical release in December, six months after it debuted on Netflix and digital music streaming services.
Inside (The Songs) will be released on CD and vinyl on December 3rd, and it is currently available for pre-order in a number of special coloured vinyl editions. Burnham’s official webstore was also selling a limited-edition CD signed by the comedian, but those have since sold out.
The quarantine-recorded Inside gained significant acclaim upon its Netflix debut in May, and the special has maintained its success, thanks in part to the viral success of the special’s “Bezos I,” a track about the Amazon founder that has become a major hit courtesy to TikTok.
Inside (The Songs) reached number Eight on the Rolling Stone 200 Albums charts only on its streaming service launch in June; as evidence of the soundtrack’s popularity, platinum-selling Maroon 5, and their new album Jordi just pushed Inside (The Songs) off of the Number Seven place.
Outstanding Directing For A Variety Special, Outstanding Music Direction, Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded), Outstanding Picture Editing For Variety Programming, Outstanding Writing for A Variety Special, and finally, Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics” for “Comedy” were all nominated for Emmy Awards in 2021.
