Meld, the Scottish collective and label, will finish the year with the latest remix album dubbed ‘Carnyx,’ which will feature reworks of its 2021 releases.
Jennifer Walton from Newcastle, Pluralist from Bristol, and Bolam from Edinburgh were approached to remix tracks by KAVARI and Mercy System, who both unveiled albums through Meld this year.
KAVARI, a producer from Liverpool who now lives in Aberdeen, delivered the five-track ‘if the benign was to ever be so pure’ record in May. From the dreamy ambient clouds of ‘aya garden ***’ and ‘yearn’ to the broken techno beats and ice-cold synths of ‘essence remains’ and ‘glass comb,’ the release featured a thrilling blend of distorted electronic sound design and propulsive club energy.
‘Carnyx’ will be available as a Beatport exclusive on December 31st, and everywhere else from January 14th.
