Kendrick Lamar’s “We Cry Together” video has qualified for an Oscar nomination.
The extended visual version of ‘We Cry Together’ from his latest album ‘Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers’ are also eligible for nomination for the 2023 Academy Awards. Earlier this summer, the six-minute visuals were screened six times at the Laemmle Royal Theater in West Los Angeles. The short film features Lamar and actress Taylour Paige playing the quarreling couple in an abusive relationship at the center of the “harrowing” track.
Before this, Kendrick Lamar’s only oscar nomination was the 2019’s track ‘All the Stars’ nominated in the Best Original Song category.
