Thom Yorke has released a second remix of MF DOOM’s ‘Gazzillion Ear,’ which was released in 2009.
The ‘Man On Fire’ remix was recorded in 2009 but never released; instead, an alternate remix of the track by Yorke was unveiled as a bonus track on MF DOOM’s ‘Born Like This’ album at the time.
J Dilla produced the original version of ‘Gazzillion Ear,’ which was released in 2009 and was one of just a few collaborations between the artist and MF DOOM before Dilla’s death in February 2006. In October of last year, MF DOOM also passed away.
Yorke initially confirmed the existence of his second remix of ‘Gazzillion Ear’ in 2016, when he played it on Benji B’s BBC Radio 1 show, which he was co-hosting at the time. As part of Lex Records’ ongoing remix series commemorating the label’s 20th anniversary, the remix has officially been released.
