It appears that Timbaland and Missy Elliott are reuniting in the studio.
Timbaland questioned his followers on Twitter if they were “ready” for a new Missy Elliott EP last week, leading many to believe that the classic production-artist duo is working on another full album project together, following 2005’s ‘The Cookbook’ and numerous other classic collaborations between the two artists.
The legendary rapper and producer’s tweet, in which he asked fans whether they were ready for another “Missy Elliott Timbo album,” was backed by a slew of suggestive emojis, fueled speculation.
Missy Elliott’s seventh studio album will be her first since the aforementioned ‘The Cookbook.’ Missy’s releases have been somewhat infrequent since that album and a 2006 greatest hits collection dubbed ‘Respect M.E.,’ with a couple of standalone songs released in recent years.
Hopefully, we won’t have to wait long to learn more about what the two artists are working on.
Missy Elliott received her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in November, and earlier this year, she was featured in the book ‘The Motherlode,’ which featured a number of pioneering women in hip hop.
