Next spring, Bloc Party will unleash their sixth album, “Alpha Games.” The band debuted the album’s first song, “Traps,” a hard-hitting alt-rock number.
Alpha Games, the band’s follow-up to 2016’s Hymns, will be released on April 29th via Infectious/BMG. Nick Launay and Adam Greenspan produced the 12-track EP.
On a U.S. tour in 2019, Bloc Party performed their critically acclaimed debut album, 2005’s Silent Alarm, in its whole. During a gig in London, England in October 2018, the indie rock band performed the entire album. That show, as well as a few others on their European tour, were captured for a live edition of Silent Alarm, which was delivered last year on 12-inch vinyl, CD, digital download, and limited-edition bundles.
From the Silent Alarm era, only Okereke and lead guitarist Russell Lissack remain, with bassist Justin Harris and drummer Louise Bartle completing out the current lineup.
