Nick Walker has directed a (literally) explosive visual for Trippie Redd and Playboi Carti’s hit track “Miss the Rage.”
The video shows the two rappers, dressed as goth vampires, spilling gasoline on a car and performing in front of it while it catches fire. They also employ a flamethrower, Molotov cocktails, and a baseball bat because, after all, what good are leather trousers if you can’t totally commit to being a real villain?
When it was dropped earlier this month, “Miss the Rage” debuted at Number Five on the Rolling Stone Top 100 Songs chart. Trippie Redd’s first-ever rock album, Neon Shark vs. Pegasus, was released in 2021 and was produced by Travis Barker. The album was the deluxe edition of Trippie Redd’s Pegasus, which debuted at Number Two on the Rolling Stone Top 200 Albums chart in November 2020.
Playboi Carti’s latest album, Whole Lotta Red, was released in December 2020, while the video for “Sky” was released in April. Carti said in an interview with Rolling Stone that Whole Lotta Red saw him exploring more rock and punk elements, similar to Redd’s Neon Shark reissue.
