Unknown Mortal Orchestra has unleashed a new ambient or instrumental music around Christmastime every year since 2013. The next installment, “SB-09,” features Kody Nielson, brother of bandleader Ruban Nielson.
The songs “Weekend Run” and “That Life” from Unknown Mortal Orchestra were released this summer. In 2018, the band released Sex & Food and IC-01 Hanoi, an instrumental album that featured Kody Nielson, Ruban’s father Chris, Jacob Portrait, and Minh Nguyen.
