Wavves have planned a summer tour to commemorate the 12th anniversary of their breakthrough album King of the Beach, which was released in 2010. Although the gigs were initially scheduled for the record’s tenth anniversary in 2020, they were postponed because of the pandemic. The tour begins on July 21 in Ventura, California, and will take the garage rock band through key cities across the United States and Canada before coming to a close on August 27 in Los Angeles.
While Wavves’ intentions to tour in celebration of King of the Beach’s 10th anniversary were put on hold, the band did manage to release a 10th-anniversary edition of the album in 2020. Snacks, the beloved cat of Bethany Cosentino of Best Coast and the star of the album cover for King of the Beach, passed away two months ago. Hideaway, Wavves’ seventh and most current studio album, was released last year.
