Jomoro, a group founded by drummer Joey Waronker and percussionist Mauro Refosco, has released their first single, “Delicate Butterfly.”
The track features Lucius’ shimmering vocals, which are accompanied by subtle instrumentation that lasts nearly four minutes. The song comes after the release of “Mirror” last month.
Blue Marble Sky, the group’s new album, will be released on June 4th. During the pandemic, the pair wrote and recorded the album, exchanging files. The album features vocal and instrumental tracks and features Sharon Van Etten, Brandon Markell Holmes, and Brazilian singer Karina Buhr. Gabe Noel, a bassist, and Michael Leonheart, a trumpeter, were among those who contributed.
Waronker has collaborated with artists such as Paul McCartney, R.E.M., Roger Waters, and others, while Refosco was recently cast in David Byrne’s American Utopia. With Thom Yorke, Flea, and Nigel Godrich, they formed Atoms for Peace in 2009 and released Amok in 2013.
