The Deftones have released a new music video for “Ceremony,” which was directed by Leigh Whannell, who also directed the thriller “The Invisible Man” last year.
The video features Cleopatra Coleman as a woman who enters a labyrinth of increasingly secretive bars and clubs, where the price of entry takes on odd forms as she progresses.
She walks down a long corridor, past other clearly distressed people, toward Deftones frontman Chino Moreno, who ushers her into the final room, where an older lady awaits. Then, in a scene reminiscent of Radiohead’s classic “Just” video, the old woman whispers something to the woman that the audience cannot hear, causing the woman to exit the room and collapse sobbing in the corridor.
