LORAINE JAMES DROPPED LATEST TRACK AS WHATEVER THE WEATHER, ‘36°C’

Loraine James’ new single under her Whatever The Weather alias, ’36°C,’ has been released.

The single ends the upcoming album, also titled ‘Whatever The Weather,’ which will be released on April 8th, 2022, via Ghostly International, with a launch party arranged for the day before at Cafe Oto in London. The latest album comes after the critically praised 2021 LP, ‘Reflection,’ which was named one of DJ Mag’s finest albums of the year.

’36°C’ is the follow-up to ’17ºC,’ which was released last month. James draws on a lot of the electronic music she listened to as a teenager, from musicians like Lusine, HTRK, and Telefon Tel Aviv, for this album. While working on it, she took a jam-based technique, which she described as “free-flowing, stopping when I felt like I was done” in a press release.

Thematically titled tracks on the EP with temperature names that correspond to their atmosphere. For instance, ‘0°C’, ‘4°C’, ’17°C’, and ‘2°C (Intermittent Rain)’.

The ultimate result demonstrates the artist’s diverse sound palette and background as a trained musician who began learning piano at an early age and went on to study Commercial Music at Westminster University.
