Adele’s comeback is complete, with the renowned English singer setting a new sales record in the United Kingdom upon her return.
After “Someone Like You” (2011) and “Hello” (2015), Adele’s third No. 1 on the Official U.K. Singles Chart is “Easy On Me” (Columbia).
With 217,300 chart sales in its first week, the new song blows away the competition, surpassing Ed Sheeran’s “Shape Of You,” which notched up 226,800 total sales in January 2017.
Adele’s “Easy On Me” receives 24 million streaming in its first week in the United Kingdom, breaking the previous record of 16.9 million established by Ariana Grande’s “7 Rings” in January 2019.
Adele’s first music release in six years is “Easy On Me,” the first single from her upcoming fourth album 30, which will be released on November 19.
