Ahead of the Posthumous Album, DMX Releases a New Song Titled “Hood Blues”

The late star’s second posthumously released song, “Hood Blues,” was released on Tuesday (May 25). Swizz Beatz produced the single, which was released by Def Jam Recordings and includes Benny the Butcher, as well as his cousins, brothers Conway the Machine and Westside Gunn.

The release of “Hood Blues” comes nearly two months after the death of DMX, who was born Earl Simmons and died on April 9 at the age of 50. The brand-new song will be included on X’s first posthumously released studio album, Exodus, which will be launched on Friday.

“Hood Blues” follows DMX’s first posthumously released song, “Been to War,” which was released just days after his death in April.

The late star’s most recent album, Undisputed, was released in 2012.
