AUTECHRE, LUKE VIBERT, AND MIKE DRED ARE SET TO REMIX HUMANOID’S ‘ST8818R’

This December, Humanoid (Brian Dougans) will unveil a remastered edition of the pioneering acid house track ‘Stakker Humanoid,’ which was released in 1988.

Dougans will re-release the song as part of a four-track EP called’sT8818r Humanoid,’ which will include three remixes of another song from Humanoid, which was released in 2019.

The remixes will be handled by Autechre, Luke Vibert, and Mike Dred, who will each recreate the music in their own distinct styles. The four-track EP is set to be released on December 3 by Belgian label De:tuned.

Brian Dougans, one half of The Future Sound of London, released ‘Stakker Humanoid’ in 1988, during the peak of the acid house era. It stayed at the top of the charts for five weeks, making it one of the first acid house hits.

After a slew of remixes and edits by fellow electronic musicians, the remastered version of ‘Stakker Humanoid’ will be released after more than three decades.
