One of the first singles from Los Lobos’ forthcoming album Native Sons, which features Los Lobos’ covers of Los Angeles-area artists, is a faithful rendition of the Beach Boys’ “Sail on, Sailor.”
Buffalo Springfield’s “Bluebird/For What It’s Worth,” War’s “The World Is a Ghetto,” and Jackson Browne’s “Jamaica Say You Will” are among the songs covered on Native Sons, which will be released on July 30th through New West Records.
Los Lobos also released the opening track “Love Special Delivery” ahead of the album’s release, a cover of a 1966 single by pioneering Chicano rock group “Thee Midniters.”
