Björk, a former Mixmag cover girl, will star in Robert Eggers’ next Viking vengeance film The Northman, which has just released its first trailer.
Anya Taylor-Joy, Alexander Skarsgård, Willem Dafoe, Nicole Kidman, Ralph Ineson, and Ethan Hawke star alongside Björk.
The film was announced last year, but because of the pandemic, there were delays in production, which resumed in August of the previous year.
The story is set in 10th century Iceland and follows a Viking prince who seeks vengeance for his father’s murder.
Björk will play the “Seeress,” marking her first significant cinematic role since 2000’s “Dancer in the Dark.”
Around 52 seconds into the first teaser, Björk appears and whispers, “Remember, for whom you shed your last teardrop.”
The film was co-written by Robet Eggers and Sjón, an Icelandic poet who has previously collaborated with Björk on tracks such as ‘Jóga,’ ‘Cosmogony,’ ‘Oceania,’ and others.
The Northman was supposed to be released on April 9, 2022, but it has been pushed back to April 22, 2022, in the UK.
