Blawan has announced the release of a new EP, ‘Woke Up Right Handed,’ on XL Recordings on November 12th.
Along with the announcement, the Yorkshire-born DJ and producer released the first tune from the project, ‘Under Belly.’
Blawan, the actual name Jamie Roberts, has been unveiling music under the Blawan moniker for over a decade, and also under the alias Kilner and as one half of Karenn with Pariah.
‘Woke Up Right Handed’ is defined as a shift in a single from the producer, with him turning away from club-focused music and instead focusing on studio production, displaying his “deep technical ability.”
XL said in a statement about the EP that it will “go some way towards shedding the ‘techno’ box he has been put in,” implying that it will traverse genres.
‘Woke Up Right Handed’ will be available digitally and on vinyl, the latter of which will be packaged in XL’s house record sleeve.
