In the Video for “Gone,” Blackpink’s Rosé Heals a Broken Heart

Rosé, a member of Blackpink, has released the video for her solo single “Gone,” which she debuted last month.

The video shows the South Korean singer in an elaborately decorated old home, lamenting the loss of a relationship. Rosé cries against a bathtub, in several scenes, pose with beautiful blue flowers and throw feathery pillows across the room in anger. The happier scenes in the video are interspersed with sadder scenes, such as the house’s furniture being covered in tarp and Rosé tossing out old picture frames.

The song “Gone” features on Rosé’s debut solo project R, which also contains the song “On the Ground.”When her producer showed her the backing track for “On the Ground,” she said she “hadn’t heard a song like that before” in an interview for Rolling Stone’s The First Time.

R is the second solo album by a member of Blackpink, following Jennie’s Solo, which was released in November 2018. Last year, Blackpink released their debut album The Album, which was accompanied by a massive virtual livestream concert entitled “The Show.”
